Hillcrest International Schools

Hillcrest School started as a preparatory in 1966 at a site on State House Road, Nairobi. In December 1973, the idea for establishing the secondary led to the purchase of ten hectares of land in the Karen, Nairobi. In 1998, the preparatory relocated next door, and today the campus comprises Hillcrest Early Years, Hillcrest Preparatory, Hillcrest Secondary and Hillcrest Senior School (collectively known as Hillcrest International Schools) for parents wanting a complete all round education. The facilities have expanded to accommodate over 700 students from thirty countries, catering for the families of international, professional and local business communities. Hillcrest is a co educational fee-paying school and is expensive by local standards. It is now owned by Hillcrest Investments Limited. Staff are recruited both locally in Kenya, and from Britain, Australia and the United States. Hillcrest is registered with the Kenyan Ministry of Education.

Catholic University Of East Africa

The Catholic University of Eastern Africa started in a modest way. It commenced as a graduate school of theology known as the The Institute was founded in 1984 by the regional ecclesiastical authority known as the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences of Eastern Africa and was known as Catholic Higher Institute of Eastern Africa .It was formally opened by Pope John Paul II On 18 August 1985. In 1986, the Graduate School of Theology started negotiations with the Commission for Higher Education in Kenya towards the establishment of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. It was granted a Civil Charter on3 November 1992 which marked the birth of the university as a private institution. In 2002, the Faculties of Science and Commerce were established. Then in 2003, the Center for Social Justice & ethics was established.
